We pay for the fire, the priest and the mandap so that a girl whose family has nothing to give is still married with full Vedic rites — and gives nothing away. हम अग्नि, पुरोहित और मंडप का व्यय उठाते हैं, ताकि जिस कन्या के परिवार के पास देने को कुछ नहीं, उसका विवाह भी पूर्ण वैदिक रीति से हो — और उसे कुछ देना न पड़े।

The bride and groom take seven steps around the fire, and at each step they promise something. We have costed the ceremony the same way — one line for each step. These are our estimates for the first wedding, at Rohtak prices. The wedding meal for both families and the village that witnesses it. दोनों परिवारों और साक्षी ग्रामवासियों के लिए विवाह-भोज।

The havan kund, samagri, ghee and wood. The fire itself. हवन कुंड, सामग्री, घृत और समिधा। अग्नि स्वयं।

A steel trunk of household essentials: utensils, bedding, a stove. Given to the couple, not to the groom's family. गृहस्थी की आवश्यक वस्तुएँ: बर्तन, बिस्तर, चूल्हा। वर-वधू को, वर-पक्ष को नहीं।

Māyobhavyāya catuṣpadī bhava
The bride's clothing and the mangalsutra. Modest, hers, and not a display. वधू के वस्त्र और मंगलसूत्र। सादे, उसके अपने, प्रदर्शन के लिए नहीं।

Prajābhyaḥ pañcapadī bhava
The mandap, the seating, the shamiana. A place for the village to sit and witness. मंडप, आसन, शामियाना। ग्राम के बैठने और साक्षी होने का स्थान।
The seasonsऋतु
Ṛtubhyaḥ ṣaṭpadī bhava
The purohit who reads the Vedic mantras, and the marriage registration under the Hindu Marriage Act. A wedding that is legal is a wedding that protects her. वैदिक मंत्रोच्चार करने वाले पुरोहित, और हिन्दू विवाह अधिनियम के अन्तर्गत विवाह पंजीकरण। वैध विवाह ही उसकी रक्षा करता है।

Sakhe saptapadī bhava

Arya Samaj has opposed dowry for a hundred and fifty years. We are not being modern. We are being faithful. आर्य समाज डेढ़ सौ वर्षों से दहेज का विरोध करता आया है। हम आधुनिक नहीं हैं। हम निष्ठावान हैं।
Swami Dayanand Saraswati taught that marriage is a samskara, not a transaction — that the Vedas prescribe fire, mantra and consent, and prescribe no gold at all. Every rupee spent on display at a wedding is a rupee taken from a girl who did not have it. स्वामी दयानन्द सरस्वती ने सिखाया कि विवाह एक संस्कार है, सौदा नहीं — कि वेद अग्नि, मंत्र और सहमति का विधान करते हैं, स्वर्ण का नहीं। विवाह में प्रदर्शन पर व्यय किया गया प्रत्येक रुपया उस कन्या से लिया गया है जिसके पास वह था ही नहीं।
“No family that comes to us gives a single rupee, a single gram of gold, or a single article of dowry. This is a condition of the marriage, not a preference.” “हमारे पास आने वाला कोई परिवार एक रुपया, एक ग्राम स्वर्ण, अथवा दहेज की एक वस्तु भी नहीं देता। यह विवाह की शर्त है, इच्छा नहीं।”
What we will not doहम क्या नहीं करते
- We do not arrange the match. Families come to us already engaged.हम रिश्ता नहीं कराते। परिवार सगाई के बाद आते हैं।
- We do not marry minors. Age proof is mandatory and verified.हम बाल-विवाह नहीं कराते। आयु प्रमाण अनिवार्य एवं सत्यापित है।
- We do not permit dowry in any form, including “gifts” and “shagun”.हम किसी भी रूप में दहेज की अनुमति नहीं देते — “उपहार” और “शगुन” सहित।

Who can get a free wedding from the trust?निःशुल्क विवाह किसका हो सकता है?
Any family in Haryana that cannot afford their daughter’s wedding. The bride must be eighteen or older, already engaged, and the family must accept that no dowry will be given or taken — in any form, including “gifts” and “shagun”. Bring the girl’s Aadhaar, a ration card or income certificate, and the name of the family she is engaged to. हरियाणा का कोई भी परिवार जो अपनी पुत्री का विवाह करने में असमर्थ है। कन्या की आयु अठारह वर्ष या अधिक हो, सगाई हो चुकी हो, और परिवार यह स्वीकार करे कि किसी भी रूप में दहेज न लिया जाएगा न दिया जाएगा — “उपहार” और “शगुन” सहित। कन्या का आधार, राशन कार्ड अथवा आय प्रमाण-पत्र, और वर-पक्ष का नाम साथ लाइए।
What does one wedding cost?एक विवाह पर कितना व्यय होता है?
About ₹51,000 at Rohtak prices, budgeted across the seven steps of the saptapadi: the wedding meal, the havan, household essentials, the bride’s clothing, the mandap, the purohit and marriage registration, and one year of follow-up. These are estimates for the first wedding. When it is done we will publish what it actually cost, including where we were wrong. रोहतक के भावों पर लगभग ₹51,000 — सप्तपदी के सात पदों में विभाजित: भोज, हवन, गृहस्थी, वस्त्र, मंडप, पुरोहित एवं विवाह पंजीकरण, तथा एक वर्ष का अनुवर्ती सम्पर्क। ये प्रथम विवाह हेतु अनुमान हैं। सम्पन्न होने पर हम वास्तविक व्यय प्रकाशित करेंगे।
Is my donation tax-deductible under 80G?क्या मेरा दान 80G के अन्तर्गत कर-मुक्त है?
Not yet. The trust was registered in 2026 and does not hold 12A or 80G registration at present. We have applied. Until it is granted, we say so plainly rather than let a donor claim a deduction that is later disallowed in scrutiny. अभी नहीं। ट्रस्ट 2026 में पंजीकृत हुआ है और अभी 12A अथवा 80G प्राप्त नहीं है। आवेदन किया जा चुका है। जब तक स्वीकृति न मिले, हम स्पष्ट रूप से बता देना उचित समझते हैं — बजाय इसके कि किसी दानदाता की कटौती बाद में अस्वीकृत हो।
Can I donate from abroad?क्या मैं विदेश से दान कर सकता हूँ?
Only if you hold an Indian passport. This trust is not registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, so it cannot accept donations from foreign citizens — including OCI and PIO card holders. An Indian citizen living abroad is not a foreign source under the Act and may donate freely. केवल तभी, जब आपके पास भारतीय पासपोर्ट हो। यह ट्रस्ट विदेशी अंशदान (विनियमन) अधिनियम, 2010 के अन्तर्गत पंजीकृत नहीं है, अतः विदेशी नागरिकों — OCI तथा PIO कार्डधारकों सहित — से दान स्वीकार नहीं कर सकता। विदेश में रहने वाला भारतीय नागरिक अधिनियम के अनुसार विदेशी स्रोत नहीं है और निःसंकोच दान कर सकता है।
Does the trust arrange marriages?क्या ट्रस्ट रिश्ता कराता है?
No. We do not arrange matches and we are not a matrimonial bureau. Families come to us already engaged. We pay for the ceremony, we solemnise it by Vedic rites, and we register the marriage under the Hindu Marriage Act — because a wedding that is legally registered is a wedding that protects her. नहीं। हम रिश्ता नहीं कराते और न ही विवाह ब्यूरो हैं। परिवार सगाई के पश्चात् हमारे पास आते हैं। हम विवाह का व्यय उठाते हैं, वैदिक रीति से संस्कार कराते हैं, और हिन्दू विवाह अधिनियम के अन्तर्गत विवाह पंजीकृत कराते हैं — क्योंकि पंजीकृत विवाह ही उसकी रक्षा करता है।

This trust is not registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010. Under that Act, a donation from a foreign citizen — including an OCI or PIO card holder — is a foreign contribution, and accepting it without registration is a criminal offence. So we refuse it. यह ट्रस्ट विदेशी अंशदान (विनियमन) अधिनियम, 2010 के अन्तर्गत पंजीकृत नहीं है। उस अधिनियम के अनुसार विदेशी नागरिक — OCI अथवा PIO कार्डधारक सहित — का दान विदेशी अंशदान है, और पंजीकरण के बिना उसे स्वीकार करना दंडनीय अपराध है। इसलिए हम उसे अस्वीकार करते हैं।
